1About these guidelines

Miku is a place to talk, be heard and find company in a safe online environment. These guidelines exist so that everyone here can do that without being harassed, deceived or made uncomfortable.

Please treat your conversations here as you would a conversation in the real world. We want every person on the platform to feel as comfortable in it as you do.

Miku operates as an intermediary under Indian law. We provide the platform on which people connect and we enforce these guidelines. Users remain responsible for what they say and do here. We are not liable for user content or conduct except as the law requires.

These guidelines form part of our platform policies, alongside the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy and the Content Moderation Policy. By using the app you agree to follow them.

2Age requirement

You must be 18 or older to use Miku. This applies to everyone, without exception.

• Creating an account that shows you as under 18 or entering a false date of birth, is prohibited.
• We may ask for identification to verify your age.
• Any account found to belong to someone under 18 will be removed and its data deleted.
• Helping a minor create or use an account is also a violation.

3Respectful communication

Treat everyone here with dignity. Discourteous, rude or belittling remarks intended to hurt someone or cause them distress are not allowed, in calls, in chat, in your profile or in your bio.

4Keeping conversations on the app

Conversations on Miku must stay on Miku. This protects both people and it is the only way we can help if something goes wrong.

Not allowed:

• Sharing your own phone number, email address, home or work address or social media handles with another user
• Asking for any of the above
• Asking someone to continue a conversation on another app, platform or service
• Arranging or proposing to meet in person
• Sharing someone else's contact details or personal information without their clear consent

Nobody on this platform has any legitimate reason to ask you for these things. If someone does, report it.

5Nudity and sexual content

There is no sexual content on Miku, of any kind, from anyone. Any identifiable nudity during a session will end it immediately, without refund or compensation.

Prohibited, including where covered by clothing, hair, emoji, stickers or transparent fabric:

Nudity and exposure

• Genitals, pubic region or buttocks
• Female nipples and areolas
• Explicit genital outlines
• Being naked, shirtless indoors or in innerwear
• Lingerie or sexually suggestive clothing

Sexual gestures and conduct

• Suggestive expressions such as flying kisses or winking in a sexual manner
• Lewd gestures
• Simulated sexual acts

Sexually themed material

• Sexual discussion during a session
• Displaying or referring to innerwear
• Sexual or vulgar language
• Sexually explicit remarks or innuendo directed at any person

Digital and fictional sexual content

• Cartoons, memes, anime or illustrations depicting nudity or sexual acts
• This applies whether or not real people are involved

We have a zero-tolerance approach to pornography and to depictions of non-consensual sexual acts.

6Sexual harassment

Sexual harassment means unwanted, unwelcome, non-physical sexual behaviour. It is prohibited regardless of how it is framed or whether the person doing it thinks it is harmless.

This includes:

• Indecent exposure, including flashing during a call
• Sexual comments, questions or advances
• Fetishising someone without their consent

7No sexual or romantic transactions

You may not use Miku to:

• Sell, promote or purchase sexual services of any kind, including escort services
• Redirect anyone to adult content
• Offer or seek money, gifts or benefits in exchange for romantic or sexual engagement, including arrangements described as sugar dating

This platform is not a dating service, a companionship-for-hire service or a route to anything of that nature.

8Child safety

We have zero tolerance for any content or conduct that harms or sexualises children. Violations result in immediate and permanent removal and are reported to the authorities.

Strictly prohibited:

• Child sexual abuse or exploitation in any form
• Sexualising children, whether real or fictional, including anime, illustrations, digital images, text or any other medium
• Child pornography, grooming or sexual exploitation, including fictional depictions and material presented as awareness-raising
• Showing or discussing sexually explicit conduct involving anyone under 18, including in a fictional or artistic context
• Visual depictions of children in sexually explicit acts
• Links to third-party sites hosting child sexual abuse material
• Facilitating child abuse or transporting a child for sexual purposes
• Encouraging or pressuring anyone to share such material

Photos involving children

You may wish to share a photograph of your own child or of your own childhood. That is fine within these limits:

• Only appropriate, fully clothed photographs
• Never an image showing a child's genitals or buttocks, even covered or partially hidden by clothing, emoji or stickers

For these guidelines, a child is anyone under the age of 18.

9Bullying and abusive conduct

We do not allow content or behaviour that harasses, bullies, insults or targets an individual or a group.

Prohibited:

• Bullying, belittling, insulting, mocking, trolling or intimidating anyone
• Harmful or unsolicited remarks about someone's appearance or body
• Abusive or offensive language
• Encouraging, praising or wishing violence on someone
• Emotionally manipulating or abusing another member
• Contacting someone repeatedly after they have asked you to stop
• Blaming or shaming someone for being a survivor of abuse, assault, harassment or exploitation
• Blackmailing someone over private or embarrassing information, sexual or otherwise
• Creating a profile in order to defame someone
• Content that is disrespectful toward people or families affected by suicide, self-harm or eating disorders

This applies to everyone, including public figures. Criticism is allowed. Abuse is not.

10Hate and discrimination

Do not say anything hateful or discriminatory, in a session, a profile photo or a bio. Do not use hateful symbols.

You may not discriminate against, harass or insult anyone on the basis of:

• Gender, gender identity, race, ethnicity, religion, caste or tribe
• Disability or serious health condition
• Sexual orientation
• Nationality, place of origin, immigration status or language
• Physical features such as skin tone, facial structure or hair texture
• Traits associated with ancestry or genetic background
• Belief system

Behaviour that spreads contempt or degradation toward marginalised communities is prohibited.

11Religiously offensive content

Be respectful of religious belief. Do not say or share anything intended to hurt religious sentiment or to cause communal discord.

Deities, prophets, religious symbols, scripture and religious leaders must not be abused, mocked or disfigured.

12Terrorism and extremism

People and organisations associated with violence, hate or terrorism may not use Miku. This includes anyone who:

• Promotes or supports a violent cause
• Glorifies or justifies hate-based or terrorist activity
• Is linked to extremist ideology or a criminal syndicate

Content produced by terrorist organisations and references to criminal acts committed by them, are prohibited.

13Physical and sexual violence

Nothing on this platform may involve or threaten real-world physical or sexual harm.

Prohibited:

• Threatening violence against any person
• Physical stalking
• Using the platform to support or enable exploitation or human trafficking
• Sexual assault, meaning any unwanted or attempted physical contact of a sexual nature

Accounts involved in any of this are removed and reported to the authorities.

14Violent and graphic content

Do not share violent, graphic or gory material or describe violence in graphic detail.

This includes real or realistic depictions of:

• Blood or bodily fluids
• Graphic injuries or wounds, including self-harm injuries
• Human bones, internal organs, remains or corpses
• Fetal remains or miscarriage
• Medical procedures shown graphically
• Violent death or injury to humans or animals
• Kidnapping or abduction
• Guns or weapons, other than when worn by uniformed law enforcement or military personnel

Statements of intent to commit serious violence and advocacy of it, are prohibited - as are violent references in a display name or profile.

15Privacy of others

Respect other people's privacy as you would want yours respected.

• Do not publish anyone's personal information without their consent
• Do not record, screenshot or share images of another person from a session
• Do not capture or share images of any person's private areas
• Do not share content that intrudes on someone's privacy, including bodily privacy

16Scams, money and fraud

No money should move between users of this platform. Nobody here has any legitimate reason to ask you for it.

Strictly prohibited:

• Asking another member for money, loans, investments, donations or gifts
• Lying about your intentions to obtain financial or material benefit
• Pretending romantic interest in order to extract money or gifts
• Misrepresenting your name, age, gender or location for financial gain
• Taking someone's property or belongings without permission
• Asking for or sharing one-time passwords, card numbers, UPI IDs or any payment details - including with anyone claiming to represent Miku
• Money laundering or disguising the source of funds
• Embezzlement or misappropriation
• Operating or promoting unauthorised gambling, betting or lotteries
• Any scheme designed to defraud users or circumvent the law

17Platform manipulation

This community depends on genuine connections. Attempts to manufacture them artificially are prohibited.

• Using automation, bots or scripts to influence matching, conversations or engagement
• Creating multiple accounts
• Accessing another person's account
• Tampering with engagement metrics, ratings or rankings
• Exploiting bugs or vulnerabilities in the platform

18Malicious software

• Do not share viruses or any code capable of causing harm or limiting how the platform works
• Do not use unauthorised software, tools or modifications to alter the app's behaviour
• Do not access the app through modified, rooted or jailbroken devices
• Do not build or use tools that disrupt the platform or extract data from it without permission

Deliberate attempts to compromise the platform or its members' devices lead to permanent removal and may lead to legal action.

19Intellectual property

Only share content you have the right to share. Do not use copyrighted material, trademarks or other protected work without authorisation - including films, music, published text or logos owned by others.

Limited use may be permitted where applicable fair dealing law allows it, provided the legal requirements for that use are met. You are responsible for ensuring what you share does not infringe anyone's rights.

20Prohibited and regulated items

Do not trade in, promote or solicit:

• Alcohol and tobacco products
• Recreational drugs, narcotics, psychotropic or controlled substances
• Prescription medicines and pharmaceuticals
• Goods or services requiring a government permit or licence
• Sexual services or related solicitation
• Content promoting substance use or depicting alcohol, tobacco or drug abuse
• Online games not verified as permissible online games and advertising or surrogate advertising of them or of intermediaries offering them

Any commercial activity involving these is prohibited. More generally, do not use this platform to break the law.

21National symbols and security

Prohibited:

• Disrespecting or misusing the Indian national flag, the national anthem or any other official national symbol
• Threatening the unity, integrity, defence, security or sovereignty of India
• Harming friendly relations with foreign states
• Disrupting public order, inciting a cognizable offence, interfering with the investigation of a crime or insulting another nation

22Compliance with the law

Everything said and shared on the platform must comply with applicable Indian law, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, together with the rules and amendments made under them.

If you become aware of content or conduct that may break the law, we encourage you to report it to the relevant law enforcement authority as well as to us.

23Reporting a violation

If you see something that breaks these guidelines, report it. You can do this from inside the app:

• From the menu during a session
• From your session history afterwards

Reports are acknowledged immediately with a reference number and our safety team responds within 24 hours. You can follow the progress of anything you report under Profile → 24/7 Support Service.

You can block anyone at any time, whether or not you report them. Blocking is immediate and does not require a reason.

24What happens when rules are broken

Where someone breaks these guidelines or harms the platform or its members, we act. What we do depends on the circumstances.

In deciding, we weigh the severity of what happened, whether it has happened before and the effect on the person affected. Some categories - child safety, trafficking, violence - lead to immediate permanent removal regardless of history.

Removal from the platform does not entitle you to a refund of any unused balance where the removal follows a violation of these guidelines.

25If you disagree with a decision

If you believe we have acted wrongly on your account or your content, tell us. Write to info@mikuapp.live or to our Grievance Officer, with your registered mobile number so we can find your records.

Where an automated system contributed to the decision, you can ask for it to be reviewed by a person.

We acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours. If you remain dissatisfied you may appeal to the Grievance Appellate Committee.

We review these guidelines regularly. Please check this page from time to time so that you know what the current version says.
