1How safety works here
Safety isn't one feature. It runs through three moments - before a session starts, while it is happening and after it ends.
Before
Who gets on the platform
People whom you would talk to go through KYC verification under Indian requirements and complete onboarding before they can take their first call.
During
What happens in the session
Automated safety systems watch every session in real time. When they detect a likely violation, the session ends on the spot. You can also report an ongoing session or later from your session history.
After
What happens when you report
Reports go to a safety team that responds within 24 hours.
2Who you're talking to
You are talking to ordinary people who have been through something and are willing to sit with someone else going through the same. Before anyone appears on the platform:
- They complete KYC verification under Indian identity requirements. A real, verified identity sits behind every profile.
- They choose their own topics - career, relationships, confidence and so on - so you are matched with someone who has actually been in that situation.
They are not doctors, psychologists or licensed therapists. They offer lived experience, not clinical training and nothing said in a session is a diagnosis, a treatment plan or medical advice. If something clinical comes up, they will tell you so and point you toward the right kind of help.
Verification confirms who someone is. It does not guarantee how they will behave. That is what the rest of this page is about.
3During a session
What is monitored
Sessions are monitored in real time by an automated safety system that looks for sexual content, abuse, requests for money and attempts to exchange contact details. When it detects a likely violation, the session is ended immediately. You will not need to do anything and you are not charged for what you did not use.
What you can do at any moment
- End the call. You never need a reason and you never need to explain. Billing stops when the call does.
- Report without ending first. Reporting is available in the in-call menu, so you don't have to choose between staying on the line and raising a flag.
- Block. Immediate, permanent and the other person is not told.
- Turn off your camera. An audio-only session is a complete session. You never have to be on video.
Recording is not allowed
Screenshots, screen recordings and any form of external recording during a session are prohibited for everyone. If someone records you, report it - we treat it as a serious violation.
4Reporting and blocking
Reporting
You can report from the menu during a session or from your session history afterward. Pick a reason, add anything you want us to know and submit.
Our safety team responds within 24 hours. Reports are handled confidentially. The person you report is never told who reported them.
What happens next
Every report is graded by how serious it is and whether it has happened before. Depending on what we find, we may remove content, issue a warning, suspend an account or remove someone permanently. Anything that may be criminal is referred to the authorities and anything involving a child ends an account, whatever the history.
Blocking
Blocking is separate from reporting and doesn't depend on it. Block anyone at any time, for any reason or none. They cannot call or message you again. You can see and undo your blocks under Profile → Blocked List.
If we act on your account
If you think we've got it wrong, tell us. Write to info@mikuapp.live and a person will look at the case again. Where an automated system contributed to the decision, you can specifically ask for human review.
5Six things no one here will ever ask you for
Most trouble on platforms like this starts the same way. If any of these comes up, it is not a misunderstanding - end the session and report it.
- Your phone number or social handleEvery conversation here stays here. There is no legitimate reason for anyone to need another way to reach you.
- To continue the conversation on another appOff the platform, none of the protections on this page exist. That is usually the point of the request.
- Money, in any formNo loan, no emergency, no investment, no gift. They are paid by us. Anyone asking you directly is breaking our rules.
- A one-time password or payment detailWe will never ask for these either. Anyone who does - including someone claiming to work for us - is not who they say they are.
- To meet in personOffline meetings are prohibited for everyone on the platform, without exception.
- Anything sexualNo nudity, no sexual conversation, no suggestive behaviour, in either direction. It is grounds for immediate removal.
If any of this happens, you have done nothing wrong by being on the call. Report it.
The full list of what is and isn't allowed is in our Community Guidelines.
6Looking after yourself
A few habits that make sessions better as well as safer.
- Find a spot where you can talk freely. Conversations go deeper when you aren't worried about being overheard.
- Share at your own pace. There is no minimum. Plenty of good sessions involve saying very little at first.
- Keep identifying details out of it. Your employer's name, your neighbourhood, your children's school - none of it is needed to have the conversation you came for.
- Check what's behind you on video. Or don't use video. Audio-only works just as well.
- Trust the feeling. If something feels off, it usually is. You are allowed to end a session for a reason you can't articulate.
- Keep an eye on your balance. Sessions are charged by the minute at a rate shown before the call connects. You will be warned before you run out.
7If you need help now
Miku is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself or worried you may be a danger to yourself or anyone else, please reach out to one of these instead. They are staffed by trained professionals.
Free, confidential, 24 hours a day, available in over 20 Indian languages. Run by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In a medical emergency, call 112 or go to the nearest hospital. If you can, tell a family member or friend what is happening - having one person who knows makes a real difference.
If you are worried about someone else
- Stay with them on the call if you feel able to and share the Tele-MANAS number with them.
- If you believe someone is in immediate danger, contact emergency services on 112.
- Report it to us afterward. Even if you are not sure it counts, tell us - we would far rather look at something that turns out to be nothing.

8Contact us
For anything about your account or a session, report it in the app or write to info@mikuapp.live. Our safety team responds within 24 hours.
We acknowledge grievances within 24 hours.
9Our role
We operate as an intermediary under Indian law. We provide the platform on which people connect, we set the rules and we enforce them. Users remain responsible for what they say and do and we are not directly liable for user content or conduct except as the law requires.
We would rather say this plainly than imply a guarantee we cannot give: verification, monitoring and enforcement reduce risk. They do not remove it. The tools on this page work best alongside your own judgement.
